Dr. Asha Patel
Dr. Asha Patel has been a dedicated pediatric dentist in South Austin for over 15 years, bringing compassionate and high-quality care to the community. Born and raised in Alabama to immigrant parents from India, Dr. Patel completed her undergraduate studies and dental school at Louisiana State University, followed by an advanced specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. This specialized training equipped her with the knowledge to handle pediatric dental trauma, growth and development, and dental anxiety management, which she applies daily in her practice at Super Kids Austin, a clinic she opened in 2018 to provide a safe, welcoming environment for children and their families.
Known for her gentle and patient approach, Dr. Patel is passionate about helping children overcome their fear of the dentist. She finds the greatest joy in seeing anxious patients leave with a smile, often forming long-term relationships as she watches her patients grow up. Her dedication to preventative care and establishing healthy oral hygiene habits early on has earned her numerous accolades, including the Opencare Patients Choice Award. Fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi/Urdu, and currently learning Spanish, Dr. Patel is able to connect with families from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of her dental practice, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her three children, participating in family activities like walks, movie nights, and experimenting with new recipes. She also stays active with regular visits to the gym and Lagree classes, and loves to travel, seeking out new experiences whenever she can. Her playful nature and love for learning even extend to imagining herself with superpowers—if given the chance, she’d choose super speed to maximize her efficiency both in and out of the office.
Dr. Roberto Loar
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Roberto Loar to Super Kids Austin as our pediatric dentist. With his extensive background and passion for children’s oral health, he will be a trusted provider for families in Austin, TX.
Originally from North East Texas, Dr. Loar completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas before earning his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After five years as a general dentist, he chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry and completed his residency in Laredo, TX, at his alma mater, UTHSCSA.
Dr. Loar’s dedication to volunteer work has taken him to 14 countries, where he has participated in over 40 international dental events, providing much-needed care to children around the world.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Loar is the author of the children’s book Sugar Bugs, which helps kids understand the importance of oral health in a fun and engaging way. His contributions to the field have been recognized by Incisal Edge Magazine, naming him one of the 40 under 40 Top Dental Specialists. He also recently achieved Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry, reflecting his commitment to continuing education.
Dr. Loar is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, where he serves in various leadership roles.
