Brush & Floss Plus Professional Cleanings

Super Home Dental Care

We all know we should brush and floss, but have you ever been taught how by a professional? Each cleaning appointment at Super Kids Dental begins with toothbrush training. We’ll ask your child to brush his or her teeth and give advice on how to improve on technique.

Buildup of food and plaque on teeth and gums is what attracts harmful bacteria that leads to cavities, gum disease, and bad breath. Daily brushing helps prevent decay by removing food particles right away. Our staff will explain this in words your child can understand. We believe in empowering patients to take the lead in their dental health. Establishing good dental hygiene habits early can lead to a lifetime of healthy teeth.

Professional cleanings

Most children need to visit the dentist twice a year for a cleaning done by a professional dental hygienist. Children who are at high risk for dental decay may need to come more often. The dentist will advise you if your child should come in for cleanings every three or six months.

Dental cleanings begin with an visual check of the teeth and gums. The hygienist uses a small mirror and scaler tool to remove plaque and tartar from the gum line and between the teeth. Your child’s teeth will then be expertly cleaned and polished! Removing this buildup regularly is an important step in preventing decay before it becomes a problem. Even the very best home brushing routine isn’t as effective as the cleaning you get at the dentist’s office.
